There are very few low clearance and/or recessed heaters on the market. Solaira is the leasder in high quality infrared heaters. They have introduced a heater that is similar to their Alpha series, however with a much tighter clearance requirement of only 6″. For recessing, at 4.33″ thick and a 6″ clearance to above, this also makes this heater able to go where no heaters have gone before.
